Course Description
When a patient is unable to accept drugs orally, it is often necessary to use syringe drivers. Our Syringe Driver Training & Awareness has been designed with professional healthcare workers in mind and delivers comprehensive theoretical and practical teachings on the safe use and handling of syringe drivers.
This course is primarily for healthcare staff and will provide attending delegates with a solid understanding of the use and operation of syringe drivers.

- Indications for use
- Types and selection
- Universal precautions
- Patient / Service user ID, communication, and consent
- Cannula (Saf-t-intima) site selection
- Syringe Driver Type specific operation
- Maintenance and trouble shooting
- Record keeping and defensible documentation
- Summary and evaluation
Our Syringe driver training course doesn’t only cover the essentials knowledge and understanding required to safely operate a syringe driver but also allows nurses to familiarise themselves with the practical usage.
Guardian Angels Training will provide the necessary competency proformas required to ensure safe and evidenced-based clinical practice following completion of our training courses. This will then allow the Registered Provider to ensure mandatory competency assessments are completed within the workplace by a nominated mentor/supervisor.
