Urethral Catheterisation Catheter Care

Course Description

This course is for Registered Nurses needing to carry out Urethral Catheterisation of service users.

During the course participating delegates will receive both theoretical and practical training using anatomically correct manikins. This allows confidence to be gained before conducting the procedure with service users.

Delegates will have to ensure that they complete a course workbook and competency check within their own workplace, alongside a Doctor or Nurse who is already competent at Urethral Catheterisation prior to being certified by an employer as competent.

An adapted course can be delivered for Suprapubic Catheterisation. For non-registered nurses, a Catheter Care course may be delivered.

Guardian Angels Training will provide the necessary competency proformas required to ensure safe and evidenced-based clinical practice following completion of our training courses. This will then allow the Registered Provider to ensure mandatory competency assessments are completed within the workplace by a nominated mentor/supervisor.
